Off the Grid with Lucy Hale
Lucy Hale talks Insta – from her fave follows to pet peeves
Insta habit you can’t stand?
I don’t understand when people post paparazzi photos of themselves. It genuinely really bothers me. They complain about paps, then they post a picture paps took!
Insta pic you’d put on your dating profile? Probably something of me with my dog, Elvis. If you’re going to date me, you have to date my dog.
Person you stalk the most? Kristen Ess. She does my hair. She’s curated her page in the coolest way, it’s just nice to look at.
What’s your most popular kind of post? I get a lot of attention for my haircuts or hair colour changes, so I get the most likes on those posts!
Types of memes you get tagged in? One of my closest friends tags me in ‘I’m a hot mess’ memes, memes about everyday women’s struggles and anything to do with animals, like baby goat videos.
Go-to photo techniques? Higher angles and natural lighting is best, and try to get a photo at magic hour because it looks like there’s a filter when there isn’t.
Post you kinda regret? I weed through things and delete stuff but it’s more about quality. There are photos that are blurry and I’m like, ‘Why did I post that?’
Best Instagram fashion moment?
I wore this [’60s style] outfit for a themed party but everyone ended up loving the outfit for real, so I was like, ‘Uh, okay, yeah!’
Who’s your most famous follower? Comedian Chris D’Elia. I just started following him and saw he liked some of my posts and I think he’s so funny. But John Mayer follows me on Twitter and that really did it for me. He was my biggest crush growing up.
