The type writers
All things handwritten are oh-so popular at the modern-day wedding, adding a personalised touch to proceedings!
When did you start working with typography?
I’ve been writing and painting for years as a sort of stress relief, but it wasn’t until a friend said I should be sharing the work I do that I thought of starting the business. Thus, the creation of Just Sayin’ Girl in late 2014.
What’s your favourite way to use typography?
I love creating something completely personal, reflecting the client’s personality. Given that weddings are the most personal day in someone’s life, their wedding invitations should reflect that, and Just Sayin’ Girl can make it happen!
What kind of services do you offer for weddings?
I offer a full range of wedding stationery, including save the dates, invites, order of ceremony booklets, menus, place cards, favours and thank you cards. I can also create live typography work at weddings, giving guests the opportunity to have a favourite quote of theirs handwritten and taken home as a wedding favour.
What do you love most about working with engaged couples?
All the love and excitement! My biggest selling point is that I’m providing my skills to the couple to go crazy with. I love being able to produce something completely personal to them. The majority of my work is custom and I think it’s so special hearing clients’ unique stories and bringing them to life.
Do you have a favourite piece of wedding work you’ve done?
Creating a personalised photo booth backdrop for a friend’s wedding. Despite it being stressful (no opportunity to make a mistake!), it was the talk of the wedding and extra special as the couple got to share their endeavours for all their loved ones to see.
