Romi & Matt

THIS CLEVER COUPLE CREATED THEIR VERY OWN COLOURFUL, FAMILY-FILLED WEDDING – AND YES, THEY DIY’D THEIR ENTIRE DAY!

Cosmopolitan Bride (Australia) - - CONTENTS - DATE 04.02.17 VENUE PUBLISHED ARTHOUSE, ADELAIDE, SA PHOTOGRAPHY ALEX KWONG

Watching Romi walk down the aisle in her beautiful handpainted dress to Kimbra’s ‘Settle Down’ was the happiest moment of Matt’s life. The ceremony was brimming with emotion; their children, Tahlia and Cooper, shared a reading that made everyone cry, and Romi even pulled a tissue out of her dress’ pocket during their vows to wipe Matt’s tears. Their celebrant stopped the ceremony to say Romi was the first bride she’d ever seen with pockets in her dress, which sent the crowd into roars of laughter!

The couple had the ultimate grand entrance to their reception, driving through coloured smoke bombs in Matt’s old Monaro HQ. The guests cheered and made them feel like total rock stars. Another highlight was when their son Cooper surprised everyone with his own speech. After partying into the night, the artistic bride and groom walked home through the city, which was a spur-of-the-moment decision and a wonderful time to reflect on their celebration. When they got home, Matt had surprised Romi by getting their invite illustration printed on their bed linen – talk about a perfect end to the night!
