A very good yarding of 291 cattle were presented to buyers at the Wangaratta Livestock Exchange. This was 190 more than last week and comprised of 257 young cattle, 21 cows, 12 bobbies and one bull.

With a welcome return of another buyer and a better selection of grown steers and grassfinis­hed trade and heavy heifers, the market was overall on a solid footing. Grown steers and bullocks were firm to 10¢ dearer, grown heifers 10-15¢ dearer, grass-finished trade heifers firm and milk vealers firm and of very good quality. QUOTES: Steers +500 kg 355.0 to 380.0; steers -500 kg 380.0 to 420.0; heifers +500 kg 310.0 to 355.0; heifers trade 340.0 to 355.0; vealers 395.0 to 425.0; cows 255.0 to 300.0.
