SET IN STONE
A palette straight from nature brings style to a busy family bathroom.
“We’re shying away from stark white and are starting to introduce colours — soft greys and warm neutrals — into our clients’ concepts,” says interior designer Terri Shannon of Bloom Interior Design and Decoration, who lent her talents to this two-bedroom, Federation-style home in Melbourne’s south west. With its large format, stone-look ceramic floor tiles and bath surround, and creamy white wall tiles, this family bathroom is a case in point. “The bath is underslung into the tiles, which gives the effect it’s sitting beneath the tiles,” says Terri. “The idea is similar to that of a pool.” Bringing the floor tiles up the wall helps to anchor the bath and make it the key feature in the room. The perfect finishing touch?
