Clever planning turns a cupboard into a chic European laundry.
Once dominating the bathroom in this south-west Melbourne home (see previous page), Terri instead tucked the laundry away behind bi-fold doors, creating a seamless, non-intrusive space. “The spatial planning before just wasn’t right — it wasn’t functional,” she says. “Now it has all the benchmarks of a good laundry — storage, bench space, room for a washer/dryer, room for washing powders, and the ability to put the washing basket inside and shut the door.” Additional features, such as a pull-out drawer for dirty washing and joinery finished in Dulux ‘Grand Piano’, make it fashionable, too.
