Join us for lunch at Orange FOOD Week.
OUR ANNUAL Meet the Producers lunch at Orange FOOD Week is on again. Join Country Style editor-in-chief Victoria Carey and former Orange Farmers’ Market manager Cath Thompson — who now runs her own cooking, catering and concept business called Me‘n’us — at the CWA hall in Nashdale. Local producers, whose ingredients will feature in the menu, join together to create a mini farmers’ market where there will be plenty of time to meet the farmers. Then, after canapés and a drink on arrival, settle in for a two-course meal, including the centrepiece producers’ plate, matched with local wines. WHEN Thursday, April 6th. TIME 11.30am–2.30pm. PRICE $70 per person. WHERE Nashdale Hall, Cargo Road, Nashdale, near Orange. BOOKINGS Cath Thompson, 0425 259 350.
CLOCKWISE, FROM RIGHT A ginger and pear cake made by Cath Thompson; looking out over Orange’s landscape; tables set for last year’s producers’ lunch, which featured dishes such as slow-cooked Crack Willow Farm pork with caramelised Mastronardi apples; rows of vines in full flourish; lunch guests will receive a copy of Country Style.
