Scout un­der the brick arched en­trance to the old fac­tory; the kitchen fea­tures a Belling ‘Rich­mond’ stove, white painted join­ery and rough stone walls; Scout gives the chick­ens a run on the lawn; Alia has kept to a sim­ple pal­ette of woody tones and shades of white throughtout the house; the vin­tage din­ing ta­ble is com­ple­mented by the painted con­crete look floors and beamed ceil­ing; the kitchen win­dow, adorned with an an­tique tex­tile, looks out to the gar­den; the in­dus­trial bench in the kitchen is a nod to the his­tory of the build­ing; a high arched win­dow in the liv­ing area over­looks the large ram­bling gar­den. FAC­ING PAGE A vin­tage linen-cov­ered chair is pulled up in front of the wood stove, which heats one of the liv­ing ar­eas. Floor­boards have been stained with Black Ja­pan from Feast Wat­son.
