Vale Stephen Davies
WAFarmers was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of industry stalwart and WAFarmers Beekeepers Council vice-president Stephen Davies last week.
Stephen was a third generation beekeeper and the managing director of Davies Apiaries, a family-owned and operated business that has produced honeybee products for more than 40 years.
Stephen was absolutely pivotal to the development of the WA apiary industry, and was the driving force behind a lot of research conducted.
He developed the WA Honey Research Development Group, which was recently awarded funding for three research projects to be jointly managed between WAFarmers and ChemCentre.
To all who knew him, Stephen was a passionate and proactive individual, who had a can-do attitude and was willing to do the hard yards to get a job done.
He will be greatly missed. WAFarmers extends its deepest sympathies to Stephen's family and friends.
