Mt Barker Sale report
Numbers were down for a total yarding of 1,136 mixed quality calves at Mt Barker.
Heavier steers and heifers gained this week with only the light steers easing on quality. Bulls to live export adjusted after last week’s increase with only one buyer active.
A pen of lightweight steers topped the market at 362c/kg.
The lighter under-330kg category had steers selling for 298c to 334c while heifers made 240c to 296c/kg.
Lightweights under 280kg sold from 280c to 362c for steers and 232c to 290c/kg for heifers.
Bull calves eased 22c/kg selling for 258c to 346c /kg.
The extra-heavy over-380kg vealer steers gained 13c this week selling from 220c to 308c/kg. Extraheavy heifers gained 6c making from 236c to 290c /kg.
Vealer steers weighing 330-380kg remained firm selling from 290c to 312c while heifers were up 6c selling from 250c to 292c/kg.
