Num­bers were up for a to­tal yard­ing of 789 head of mixed qual­ity cat­tle a last Thurs­day.

The of­fer­ing was mainly store cat­tle with prices re­flect­ing the qual­ity through­out the sale.

A qual­ity run of heavy cows sold to a top of 204c and a line of An­gus weaner steers topped the mar­ket at 330¢/kg. Medium-weight weaner steers weigh­ing 280-330kg sold for 315¢, while lighter weights in­creased in value mak­ing from 242¢ to 330¢ to av­er­age 304¢/kg.

Weaner heifers sold from 170¢ to 254¢ for the best to av­er­age 205¢/kg.

Year­ling steers sold from 232¢ to 328¢ to av­er­age 295¢, while the year­ling heifers made from 180¢ to 280¢.

Grown steers weigh­ing 400500kg sold for 260¢/kg. Grown heifers weigh­ing over 540kg made from 180¢ to 204¢ to av­er­age 192¢/kg.

Heavy prime cows eased 10¢ mak­ing from 170¢ to 204¢ to av­er­age 185¢/kg. Medium-weights sold from 170¢ to 185¢ and store cows made as lit­tle as 120¢ for light small-framed an­i­mals to 170¢ for larger framed cows to av­er­age 150¢/kg. Prime heavy bulls eased mak­ing from 170¢ to 188¢/kg.
