Boyanup sale report
Elders reports agents yarded a total of 352 head this week, with strong inquiry from feeder steer yearlings. Stores improved 3-5¢/kg and sold from 300332¢/kg, up 3-5¢/kg.
New season vealers are now coming in and with demand strong on these made, selling from 314-330¢/kg for steers.
Beef cows also improved in value this week with only a small number of head penned, selling from 198-214¢/kg for heavy types.
Beef steers from 400kg to 500kg sold from 288-294¢/kg. Beef cows at more than 520kg sold between 198-214¢/kg and were up 2-3¢/kg.
Heavy bulls weighing more than 600kg sold between 160-212¢/kg, up 2-3¢/kg. Six Angus steers sold to the top price of 415¢/kg, or $1223 per head, while seven simmental steers reached a top price of 274¢/kg or $910 per head.
Nine Murray Grey steers sold to a top price of 290¢/kg or $959 per head.
