El­ders re­ports agents yarded a to­tal of 352 head this week, with strong in­quiry from feeder steer year­lings. Stores im­proved 3-5¢/kg and sold from 300332¢/kg, up 3-5¢/kg.

New sea­son veal­ers are now com­ing in and with de­mand strong on th­ese made, sell­ing from 314-330¢/kg for steers.

Beef cows also im­proved in value this week with only a small num­ber of head penned, sell­ing from 198-214¢/kg for heavy types.

Beef steers from 400kg to 500kg sold from 288-294¢/kg. Beef cows at more than 520kg sold between 198-214¢/kg and were up 2-3¢/kg.

Heavy bulls weigh­ing more than 600kg sold between 160-212¢/kg, up 2-3¢/kg. Six An­gus steers sold to the top price of 415¢/kg, or $1223 per head, while seven sim­men­tal steers reached a top price of 274¢/kg or $910 per head.

Nine Mur­ray Grey steers sold to a top price of 290¢/kg or $959 per head.
