There were 750 cat­tle of­fered by live weight and 435 head of­fered by appraisal in a yard­ing where sup­ply did not ex­ceed de­mand.

In the live weight sec­tion, prices eased 5¢ to 20¢/kg on most beef-bred young cat­tle. The very good line-up of year­ling heifers were the ex­cep­tion, re­main­ing firm.

Friesian feeder steer prices eased 10¢/kg on re­duced sup­port, but price drops were mainly qual­ity re­lated.

The beef-bred weaner steers sold from 290¢ to 340¢/kg, av­er­ag­ing 315¢, eas­ing 20¢/kg. The beef-bred weaner heifers sold from 200¢ to 284¢/kg to av­er­age 259¢, eas­ing 5c/kg.

The beef bred year­ling steers sold from 240¢ to 308c/kg to av­er­age 278¢, down 15¢/kg, with the beef-bred year­ling heifers that were of very good qual­ity mak­ing from 230c to 296c/kg to av­er­age 277c/kg, re­main­ing firm.

Friesian feeder steers sold from 190¢ to 230¢/kg to av­er­age 206¢, eas­ing 10¢/kg.
