Make a… bird peg

Step 1

COMPLETE your stitched bird then place right-sides together with the backing fabric or a second stitched bird (see tip). Sew around the bird shape, just outside the stitching, but leaving the bottom edge open. Trim away some of the seam allowance, and clip the curves and points.

Step 2

TURN to the right side. Fill with toy stuffing, and then sew up the gap at the bottom with small, neat stitches. Using a glue gun, or fabric glue, stick the bird to the peg, using a rubber band to hold the bird in place while the glue dries.
