Cross Stitcher

Make a… guitar keyring

-

Step 1 COMPLETE

the stitching, then cut out your plastic canvas using small, sharp scissors, leaving one blank square outside the stitching and extending the neck of the guitar by 60 squares – the pink line on the chart shows where you will need to cut.

Step 2

FOLD

the plastic canvas neck end over onto the wrong side, making a loop with the canvas large enough to attach the split ring. Using a dark coloured cotton, stitch the neck end to the reverse side of the plastic canvas.

Step 3

CUT

a slit in the plastic canvas large enough to thread the ribbon through – refer to the chart for placement. Thread the ribbon through the slit, taking it up the neck of the guitar, over the loop and down the reverse side, overlapping the ribbon ends. Use fabric glue or stitches to hold the ribbon in place. The back can be covered with felt, which will need to be cut to shape before being glued in place.

Back with felt and attach a brooch pin to turn this into a brilliant badge for a friend who’s a music fan
