Starting a ‘new term’ of stitching…

Cross Stitcher - - Welcome -

HOW DO YOU FEEL about autumn? Are you sad to see the last of the summer flowers fade, breathing a sigh of relief that the kids are back at school, or quietly satisfied that you’ve remembered to add a daylight bulb to your shopping list? Even as adults, we still get that ‘new term’ feeling – and not just because we’ve had to buy so many new school uniforms. So let’s call this the start of a new term for cross stitch. We won’t force you to write extra neatly on the first page of a new exercise book but we do hope you will want to make a list of all the new projects you’d like to try. A larger – but oh-so-satisfying – project for your list is our Tree of Life cushion ( page 14), featured on the cover. We love the idea of combining this powerful symbol with a beautiful autumnal tree. The stylised leaves are great to tackle in blocks – you know, the kind of blocks where you promise you’ll stitch just one more and then look at the clock surprised to find it’s turned midnight. As always, we’d love to hear what’s at the top of your list. Happy stitching.
