HOW TO… AP­PLIQUÉ WITH BLAN­KET STITCH EDGE

Step1

IRON Bon­daweb to the re­verse of your fabric, and us­ing the tem­plate be­low, trace the coat out­line onto the pa­per back­ing, re­mem­ber­ing to re­verse the tem­plate.

Step 2

CUT out the mo­tif and peel off the Bon­daweb’s pa­per back­ing. Place the ad­he­sive side of the fabric in po­si­tion onto your even­weave, and iron in place.

Step3

ADD blan­ket stitch around the fabric edge. Knot your thread and bring your sharp nee­dle up at A. Take the nee­dle down at B, 2-3mm away, keep­ing the thread loop on the sur­face. Bring the nee­dle up at C, through the loop and pull to tighten.

Step 4

WORK the next stitch by tak­ing the nee­dle down at D, about 2-3mm from your pre­vi­ous stitch, keep­ing the thread loop on the sur­face. Bring your nee­dle up at E, through the loop, and pull to se­cure, and so on.
