Make a… key holder

Cross Stitcher - - Just For Fun -

Step 1

PLACE one backing piece of fabric on top of your stitching, right-sides facing. Sew across the top edge with a 1.25cm (½in) seam allowance. Fold the fabric over onto the reverse of your stitching and then run your nail across the fold to make sure it lays flat. Unfold and place right-side up on the table.

Step 2

JOIN the remaining two pieces of fabric in the same way. Place right-sides down on top of the joined pieces. Sew down both long sides and across the top, leaving a small gap in the middle of the top for the ribbon to pass through. Trim off any extra seam allowance, then turn to the right-side.

Step 3

FOLD in the raw fabric edges on the remaining open short side. Sew neatly across the opening, leaving a small gap in the middle for the ribbon to pass through. Push the lining inside the key holder, and then with the two gaps on the short side aligned, thread the ribbon through both.

Step 4

SEW a button onto one end of the ribbon, and attach the split ring to the other. The button can be used to pull your keys inside the case.
