Make a… Scandi stocking
LAY your completed stitching face-down on top of your backing fabric. Stitch around the stocking shape, leaving 1cm (⅜in) between the outer edge of the cross stitch and the seam. Trim away some of the seam allowance, and then clip the curve around the stocking toe. Turn to the right side.
TURN over the top edge of the stocking twice, then machine stitch the seam to hold it in place. Place the two pieces of felt together, and then stitch down the long seams on either side of the felt with a 6mm (¼in) seam allowance.
WORK the right-side of the stocking now – slip the felt sleeve over the neatened top edge with the seams facing out. Sew the felt sleeve securely to the top of the stocking. Fold the felt sleeve down to form the stocking top and then finish with bobble trim and a felt strip sewn to the top for hanging.
