Stitching messages with meaning…

Cross Stitcher - - Contents -

STITCHING FOR SOMEONE is a lovely excuse to pass on a special message. Handmade cards are a great way to do this but even more satisfying is completing and framing a design that will be there on the wall every day. Just think how long the quotes and messages on antique samplers have lasted! We have high hopes that this month’s cover project (page 16) will find its way on to many walls to deliver an inspiring message. It is great to have the chance to travel the world but the word ‘explore’ can mean so much more. We like to think this design will be stitched for would-be adventurers and even new arrivals in the world – a life of exploration must be something most parents would love their children to have.

If you are still not convinced of the power of cross stitch to deliver an important message, then take a look at our bee-friendly flower sampler (page 77). Each flower is a joy to stitch as a single motif and provides a lesson in the best flowers to plant in our gardens this summer to keep bee numbers on the increase. Cross stitch and conservation in one go!

Happy stitching!
