Eden Wharf extension

-

WE WEREN’T quite right when we said the NSW state budget didn’t do anything for the cruise sector earlier this week ( CW Tue).

The fine print of regional funding alloca ons confirms that $26.2 million has been provided for the Eden breakwater wharf extension on the far south coast.

The project will help the wharf cater for cruise ships docking at Eden, which later this year welcomes a series of visits including Pacific Eden, Noordam, Norwegian Jewel, Pacific Jewel, Silver Shadow and M/S Sirena.

CLIA Australasia md Joel Katz told CW the associa on had not been expec ng any major cruise announcements in the budget.

“We con nue to engage with the NSW government to address the capacity constraints in Sydney in order to maintain its growth trajectory...we are confident the NSW government understands the issue,” Katz told CW.
