The Brute LS8000 is OnGuard’s equivalent of the Abus Extreme and Kryptonite M18, and while the numbers across the board on the OnGuard’s testing can’t match either of those, it sailed through the standard saw blade test and took plenty of abuse from the tungsten blade before failing. Bolt crop resistance is impressively high (fourth best on test) and taking over a tonne of twisting pressure too. The bracket is dreadful, lasting just 16 seconds before giving up. If you’re looking for a high-security lock but can’t afford the premium products, this OnGuard is the next best thing.
