The City Chain is one of the only chains to feature an integrated lock. The integrated locking ends sit on rotating joints, which make it hard to make a sustained attack on the lock mechanism with a hammer. Its corrosion protection is flawless, against a saw it remained unfazed by a standard blade, but a tungsten blade cut through one side of a link in just under a minute. Bolt crop resistance was fair, and torsion testing broke the lock mechanism joint, but only with considerable force. Picking the lock is futile as it’s one of Abus’s best grade cylinder barrels inside. The most surprising result was the chilling and hammering test, where four strikes from the sledgehammer were enough to break the chain.
