PORSCHE BOXSTER & CAYMAN GTS 4.0

The six-cylinder returns!

-

Porsche has surprised fans by announcing the new Boxster and Cayman GTS 4.0 featuring a 4.0-litre sixcylinder engine. When introduced three years ago, the 718 Boxster and Cayman models used four-cylinder turbocharged engines, replacing the six-cylinder engines found in the previous generation. It seems in the quest for more performance the use of an already existing sixcylinder engine was the best choice during development. The new GTS 4.0 models are using a detuned version of the upcoming manual-only Cayman GT4 and Spyder

GT4 models, however, it will be available in both manual and auto. Standard options will include Porsche Active Suspension Management, the reduced height of 20mm, Porsche Torque Vectoring with a mechanical limited-slip rear differential, and 20-inch alloys. Most importantly, the Sports Chrono package is also standard.

Pricing will start from $172,400 for the Cayman GTS 4.0 and $175,200 for the Boxster GTS 4.0 and is expected to arrive halfway through 2020. Naturally, on-road costs aren’t included.
