Melon farm tour juicy facts

IF YOU reckon the time is ripe to en­large your own “melon” with some in­ter­est­ing melon facts, look no fur­ther.

Melon farm tours will be op­er­at­ing on Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 17, from 9–11.30am as part of the bi­en­nial Chin­chilla Melon Fes­ti­val.

Vis­i­tors will be treated to a bus ride out to Para­m­agh Farm­ing, where they will visit the pack­ing sheds, melon patches, and pick­ing ma­chines to see how the farm op­er­ates.

The guides will all be melon farm­ers, some of them from other farms, and they’ll run you right through the whole process, from plant­ing to har­vest.
