Cash boost to give kindy kids a good start

Dalby Herald - - NEWS -

BECK Street Kindergarten has landed a much-needed windfall from the State Government to help with maintenance work.

Member for Condamine Pat Weir attended the kindergarten last Friday to announce the $22,500 grant.

Mr Weir said he was proud to support the kindy because he knew it was a worthy recipient.

“Kindy is the first step of education and to come out and see the fellowship here is great,” Mr Weir said.

“It’s a beautiful little group.

“They applied for the funding and I was more than happy to support them.”

Beck Street Kindergarten committee member Susan Sullivan said the funding was badly needed.

“There’s plenty of work we need to get done so this funding is great,” Mrs Sullivan said.

“Our plumbing is from 1965, we need to make the floor level, we need wiring done and we want new air-conditioning.

“We’re very excited for the committee and the parents to secure this funding.”

The announcement came on the day the kindergarten was hosting its annual athletics day, with parents and siblings present.
