Devils haunt foe in grand final clash
RUGBY LEAGUE: More silverware is heading to Dalby, after one of our junior rugby league side collected a huge victory on Saturday.
The undefeated Dalby Devils under-12 team was victorious over Brothers in the grand final, to become back-to-back premiers.
The Devils looked like a premiership team from kick-off.
They scored three first-half tries to take a 16-0 lead into the break.
The Dalby side continued to apply the pressure to the opponents in the second-half.
Dalby put the result beyond doubt with a try in the first minute of the second half.
Dalby was out to a 26-0 lead with seven minutes remaining, when Brothers went over for a consolation try.
The victory caps off a pair of brilliant seasons for the young side.
The Devils also played another grand final on Saturday, with the under-11/12 Development Cup team playing against Gatton.
The first half was tightly contested, with both teams showing off their attacking capabilities.
Both teams scored three tries in the first half, as Dalby went into the break up 18-16.
But Gatton came out in the second half all guns blazing, and quickly raced out to a lead the Devils could not peg back.
The loss, however, has not taken any shine off the side’s performances this season.
CHAMPIONS: Dalby Devils U12 side.
