Garage sale helps bring in funding for church

Dalby Herald - - NEWS -

THE Uniting Church’s garage sale on Saturday has been hailed a great success, with thousands of dollars raised to support the ministry.

The event was held from 8am-1pm on the church grounds, and Reverend Adam Tipple was chuffed with how the event unfolded.

“It went very well. It was definitely one of the more successful ones we’ve ever had,” he said.

“It was very busy so we’re very happy.”

The combined garage sale and market day featured plants, trinkets and other goods, as well as a range of exceptional food.

The day managed to raise more than expected, with Reverend Tipple saying the money would be put to good use.

“We raised $6000, which is a really good result. The money goes into our general funding area.

“It supports the ministry here and the Uniting Church. It supports everything that we do.”

The church has no more community events planned for the remainder of 2017 at this stage, but will host further events in 2018.
