Grand Final weekend
WHETHER you watch sport religiously or just consider yourself a casual fan, this weekend’s NRL and AFL Grand Finals have you covered.
In the NRL, the North Queensland Cowboys will face minor premiers Melbourne Storm in an intriguing match-up, with both sides having vastly different finals campaigns.
In the AFL, the Richmond Tigers play the Adelaide Crows, with both clubs returning to the grand final after lengthy periods of missing out on the big dance.
For those eager to embrace finals fever, you won’t be lacking places to watch as the pubs around town will be broadcasting the games.
THIS Saturday from 1-2pm, locals will have the opportunity to head down to the Lions Club Expo, open to the public at Our Lady of the Southern Cross College.
The expo is part of the 100 year International Lions Club Convention, held in Dalby this weekend.
DON’T forget the weekly parkrun through the Myall Creek Parklands, starting at 7am on Saturday.
Registrations must be made at www.parkrun.com. au/dalby and you must bring your barcode to the run.
IF YOU want to avoid the heat this weekend, a movie at the Dalby Civic Theatre might be for you.
For the adults, IT will screen tonight and tomorrow night at 7.15pm, as well as Sunday at 5.15pm.
For the kids, The Emoji Movie will be showing today and tomorrow (1pm and 5.15pm) and Sunday (3.15pm).
THE Western Downs Outreach Project’s monthly markets are on this Sunday, helping to fund the WDOP Dalby Soup Kitchen.
Held around the Dalby Railway Station, it’s a great morning for the whole family. The markets will go from 8am-1pm.
