Chop­per needed to save male pas­sen­ger

A 21-YEAR-OLD male has been air­lifted to Toowoomba Hos­pi­tal after a se­ri­ous mo­tor ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent west of Tara on Mon­day night.

The man, who was a pas­sen­ger in the ve­hi­cle, was ejected from the car while trav­el­ling at 100 kilo­me­tres per hour on a gravel road.

The Toowoomba-based RACQ Life­Flight crit­i­cal care doc­tor treated the pa­tient at the scene for se­ri­ous in­juries, in­clud­ing a chest in­jury, con­tu­sions to his limbs and a sus­pected spinal in­jury.

The ac­ci­dent con­tin­ues an in­cred­i­bly busy year for Life­Flight for life­sav­ing mis­sions, per­form­ing a record 5342 mis­sions through­out Queens­land and around the world.
