Donations still flowing for fire-hit school

Dalby Herald - - NEWS -

ALTHOUGH five months have passed since the tragedy of the Anzac Day fire that tore through Dalby State School, support continues to roll in.

The Dalby Rotary Club has made a new donation to the school, following its $2500 donation earlier in the year.

Rotary District Governor Elwyn Hodges, who is based in Brisbane, travelled out to Dalby earlier this week to make the second donation of $5000.

He was joined by the Dalby Rotary president Shirley Mellor to hand over the cheque.

Dalby State School representatives Ben Edmunds and Penny De Waele were on hand to gratefully accept the donation, coming into the school during their holidays to receive the money.

The $7500 from the Rotary Club will be used to refurbish the new music room once it has been rebuilt.

The school lost both its music room and administration block during the fire. This gesture is the latest donation to the school after months of unbelievable community support.
