Dalby Herald - - NEWS -

A YOUNG Dalby driver has been handed a fine and a driving disqualification for blowing twice the legal limit of alcohol while behind the wheel.

Timothy Brendan Ostwald pleaded guilty to one charge of drink driving in Dalby Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The court heard Ostwald was out that evening with friends, celebrating a work colleague finishing his employment.

The court then heard Ostwald had admitted to consuming alcohol before driving home at roughly 11.30pm.

Police prosecution said Ostwald was pulled over for a random breath test on Nicholson St just prior to midnight. During the test, Ostwald returned a positive reading of 0.122.

Dalby Magistrates judge Robbie Davies said the offence was quite a serious breach of the legal alcohol limit for someone as young as him

The 21-year-old was fined $600 for the offence and was suspended from driving for three months.
