Dalby Herald - - NEWS -

THE holder of a provisional drivers licence who was caught driving under the influence of alcohol has been suspended from driving.

In the Dalby Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Goranba man Scott Keith Harding pleaded guilty to one count of drink driving.

The court heard Harding had been drinking at a friends house on Saturday, September 2, celebrating a birthday. After a few drinks, the court heard Harding decided to get behind the wheel to pick up a friend from a neighbouring street.

Police prosecution said Haring was pulled over for a random breath test on Goranba Ln, when he blew a positive reading.

Provisional licence holders are not allowed to have any alcohol in their system while driving.

The court heard Harding blew 0.133, which is two and a half times the legal limit if he was on an open licence.

Harding said he had not driven more than a kilometre and a half and it was an ill informed decision.

Judge Robbie Davis suspended Harding from driving for three months, and fined him $300.
