BASKETBALL: Junior players hit the court for the first time this season as the new Dalby PCYC junior basketball season approaches.

Trial matches were played on Monday afternoon, as the team got accustom to their new team-mates and playing styles.

These matches also provide the opportunity for many players to get rid of the cobwebs ahead of round one.

Dalby PCYC co-ordinator Kelly Stapleton said she was looking forward to a good season.

“The competition is always a lot of fun for the kids, and seeing them in the practice matches, there should be some good games played this season,” she said.

“I am expecting some close games which are highly competitive.

“This season looks like one where any team on their day will be able to pick up a win, which makes it more fun and exciting for the kids.”

The season officially begins next Monday afternoon.

JUNIORS: The opening trial matches of the season began on Monday in preparation for the regular season.
