Dalby Herald - - NEWS -

A 25-YEAR-OLD man died after being struck by a vehicle in Tara last Friday night.

The man was allegedly walking on Tara Kogan Rd at Tara when, about 7pm, he was struck by a vehicle.

He was rushed to Tara Hospital for treatment, but was later pronounced deceased.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was not physically injured during the incident.

The Forensic Crash Unit is still investigating.

It comes after the Tara Police executed a heavy push on road safety over two weeks. They performed 729 breath tests and issued 14 infringement notices for speeding. During this operation, police intercepted one drink driver, one unlicensed driver driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, and two people driving with an illicit drug in their system.

Police will be continuing traffic enforcement patrols over the next few weeks.
