Driver banned for six months
A WARRA man will be off the road for six months after being caught drink driving.
John Tredrea pleaded guilty to one charge of driving under the influence of alcohol in the Dalby Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The court heard Tredrea was caught in Kogan, returning home after drinking with friends.
Tredrea’s defence lawyer told the court Tredrea’s brother was originally driving the car.
When Tredrea became nervous about his brother’s driving, they swapped and Tredrea was behind the wheel.
The defence lawyer claimed in court Tredrea was driving for two minutes.
Police prosecution told the court, Tredrea admitted he had consumed 12 beers before getting behind the wheel.
The court heard Tredrea blew 0.180.
Magistrate Robbie Davies said the incident was foolish.
“You are dangerous to him (Tredrea’s brother), dangerous to yourself and dangerous to others,” Mr Davies said.
Tredrea was banned form driving for six months.
