Helping a friend who’s in need

Dalby Herald - - NEWS | OPINION YOUR SAY - — Mary O’Brien, Dalby

AFTER launching my new program, Are You Bogged Mate?, for mental health of men in the bush, I believe it is important to remember the seriousness of the issue.

I started this program on the back of many tragic instances of men who I knew were suffering.

It is important for all of us to make sure people in the bush are mentally supported, especially with hardships like droughts and floods that our regions experience.

Being there for a friend or having the courage to ask someone how they are coping is important for our communities.

In our region alone we have lost many men who felt they did not have any options.

As a community we all need to band together and look out for our mates who seem bogged and could use a hand.
