Dalby Herald - - NEWS -

WESTERN Downs families are looking forward to the next community movie night, hosted by Western Downs Regional Council.

Popular movie Ferdinand was enjoyed by nearly a thousand people in communities across the Western Downs.

Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development Councillor Kaye Maguire said the initiative was a roaring success, and could lead to more movie nights in the future.

“Council was thrilled to see so many families from all of our towns embrace the Western Downs regional movie nights,” she said.

“Almost 1000 people across eight towns came out in all weather conditions, and it was amazing to hear some of our small communities including Jandowae and Tara had more than 120 and 150 attendees respectively. There is nothing better than being able to spend time with loved ones.

“These events require strong partnerships with our community groups, who added to the movie night success.”

She said the success opened the possibility of more events.
