In memory of Craig
While most of the trucks on show at Dubbo were bobtail, there was a sprinkling of semis, including an International R190 owned by David Armstrong, who arrived from Cootamundra.
“My son Craig and I restored the truck,” he says. “It took us three years, from 2010 to 2013. It probably wouldn’t be finished if not for him.”
Sadly, Craig passed away last October and David believes that is why he pushed to get the truck completed.
“Now I’ve got to show it in his memory,” he explains.
David has been to a few shows over the years, and the Internationals have always been a standout as far as he’s concerned.
He says the R190 is painted in its original colours of ‘Katoomba Blue’. The engine is a 175hp Cummins with a 10-speed Road Ranger.
“Eighteen months ago I purchased the trailer and since then have put the gates and tarp on to make it look authentic,” David says.
“I’ve done the Sylvia’s Gap run twice, the American Historical Show at Echuca and did Hauling the Hume in 2015.”
