Newcastle transport operator Paul Harrison is well-known for entering his Macks, especially the older models in truck shows. For Dubbo he brought along an Ultraliner.
“I’ve been made on trucks all my life,” Paul says. “The cousins had trucks and I actually played around on them as a kid.
“When I was 22 I bought a TK Bedford. We were fencing at the time and I used to go out bush and cart my own timber.
“My second truck was a Commer Knocker and soon after came my first Mack, a B-model.”
After buying another B-model, Paul went to R-models and then onto Mack V8s.
“We used to do a lot of really big stuff, 250-plus tonne, then I got into Palfinger cranes, the really big ones.
“I love my V8s … I think they are unbelievable.”
