Good results for both teams in the last GVCA pennant competitio­n round.

The Deni Gems had a great win over the Numurkah Two team - eleven games 86 hoops to Numurkah’s one game 55 hoops.

At Rich River the Diamonds defeated Rich River One - eight games 72 hoops to the home team four games 62 hoops.

There were fifteen players at croquet on Sunday. Three won their three games. Jill Tainsh won the day with 26 and Dot Murphy and Mary James each scored 24 hoops.

Several players had good scores despite losing one game. Lorraine Honeyman had 25, John Tainsh 24, Gwen Pearn and Alan Tonta both had 22 and Bevis Pearn 21 hoops.

Andy Davis was the only player to have a successful jump shot.

On Wednesday fifteen players took part in croquet. There were no three-game winners but several players had good scores with two games.

Val Wolfe won the day with 23, Allan Tonta had 22, Bevis Pearn, Andy Davis each scored 21, and Colin Campbell and Gwen Pearn had 20 hoops.

Lorraine Honeyman and Allan Tonta both ran a hoop-in-one and Brad Fawns had a successful jump shot.

There will be no croquet on Sunday as preparatio­n of the courts for the Australian Golf Croquet Handicap Championsh­ips will be in progress.

All players and partners are welcome to come to the barbecue on Sunday at 5pm. Cost will be $15.

Players taking part in the tournament are reminded to check the early starting times each day. The doubles will be played Monday and Tuesday and the single Wednesday and Thursday.
