Gypsy jazz at Wang.

-

Melbourne band Ultrafox will bring some ‘swing to the plains’ with a concert in Wanganella this Sunday.

The band is performing an ‘on the green’ style afternoon concert as part of the South West Music Concert Series.

Music lovers are invited to bring a picnic and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of the finest French-style gypsy jazz.

Featuring veteran guitarist Peter Baylor, Ultrafox has enjoyed an ever increasing audience and a busy work schedule with appearances at many major Australian festivals.

Gypsy jazz music is typified by the muscular driving, swing rhythm of acoustic guitars and double bass.

Everything from hot swinging jazz to tender lyrical ballads, French melodies and gypsy waltzes to original compositions make up the band’s extensive repertoire.

Ultrafox will be supported by popular local musician Anna Bowie, who has developed a great deal of performance experience and impresses crowds wherever she goes.

The concert starts at 2pm and tickets will be available at the gate.

A free Purtills bus service will travel from Deniliquin to Wanganella for the concert. Book a place on the bus and your ticket by calling 5881 4736 or visit facebook.com/swmusic.
