The business was started when co-owner Karen O’Brien and her brother Ron’s engineering business Turner Harrows transitioned into a retail outlet, selling steel and associated products that they were purchasing from other steel companies at the time.
Karen hired Steve Lowry and the business started out with just the two of them.
When Ron retired at the end of 2016 it opened up the door for Nick Richardson to start NJR Trays and Welding in the same building, which ensures customers can continue to have their repairs dealt with at the Augustus St site.
North Deni Steel Supplies has five full-time staff members, while Steve now works part-time. They have a delivery truck and ute, as well as long trailers used for delivering to customers.
The business also gets supplies ordered in from SolarSpan — Australia’s leading insulated roofing product ideal for insulated patio roofs, insulated pergolas, verandas, decks, carports, garages and home extensions.
The North Deni team caters to your needs with guillotines to cut sheets and plates to your desired length and size, and they service the surrounding areas ranging from Hay, Finley, Jerilderie, Cobram, Wakool, Barham, Kerang and Cohuna to locals here in Deniliquin.
Having a wide variety of products means they can help with all your require- ments with rural fencing, town fencing, sheds and much more.
They also have a storeroom with welding rods, hinges, nuts, bolts and plenty more.
