P-plater loses licence, faces speed charge
An 18 year-old Barham man has had his licence suspended after he was allegedly caught driving 40km/h over the speed limit on Thursday.
About 8am, police observed a vehicle travelling on Barham Rd, Deniliquin.
Speed checks revealed the car was travelling at an alleged speed of 130km/h in a 100km/h zone, however being a P1 licence holder police said the actual legal limit was 90km/h.
He was issued a licence suspension notice and a ticket, with another fine also issued for allegedly failing to display P plates.
A 22 year-old Kerang man was issued with a move-on direction after he was allegedly urinating on the footpath outside an End St business on Saturday.
Police said the incident occurred about 12.30am and the man was charged with offensive conduct.
Police are investigating the malicious damage to a Hardinge St business.
Between Friday and Sunday, glue or spray contact adhesive was used on seven of the premise’s windows. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
A 23 year-old Deniliquin man has been charged with possession of equipment for administration of prohibited drugs.
About 10am Saturday, police stopped a vehicle in Poictiers St, Deniliquin for a roadside test.
Police conducted a search of the vehicle and occupants, which allegedly located an orange ‘ice pipe’ in the driver’s pants.
He was issued a field court attendance notice to face court.
