P-plater loses li­cence, faces speed charge

An 18 year-old Barham man has had his li­cence sus­pended af­ter he was al­legedly caught driv­ing 40km/h over the speed limit on Thurs­day.

About 8am, po­lice ob­served a ve­hi­cle trav­el­ling on Barham Rd, De­niliquin.

Speed checks re­vealed the car was trav­el­ling at an al­leged speed of 130km/h in a 100km/h zone, how­ever be­ing a P1 li­cence holder po­lice said the ac­tual le­gal limit was 90km/h.

He was is­sued a li­cence sus­pen­sion no­tice and a ticket, with another fine also is­sued for al­legedly fail­ing to dis­play P plates.

A 22 year-old Kerang man was is­sued with a move-on di­rec­tion af­ter he was al­legedly uri­nat­ing on the foot­path out­side an End St busi­ness on Satur­day.

Po­lice said the in­ci­dent oc­curred about 12.30am and the man was charged with of­fen­sive con­duct.

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the ma­li­cious dam­age to a Hardinge St busi­ness.

Be­tween Fri­day and Sun­day, glue or spray contact ad­he­sive was used on seven of the premise’s win­dows. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is asked to contact po­lice.

A 23 year-old De­niliquin man has been charged with pos­ses­sion of equip­ment for ad­min­is­tra­tion of pro­hib­ited drugs.

About 10am Satur­day, po­lice stopped a ve­hi­cle in Poic­tiers St, De­niliquin for a road­side test.

Po­lice con­ducted a search of the ve­hi­cle and oc­cu­pants, which al­legedly lo­cated an orange ‘ice pipe’ in the driver’s pants.

He was is­sued a field court at­ten­dance no­tice to face court.
