Thieves tar­get two De­niliquin schools

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the ma­li­cious dam­age to Ed­ward Pub­lic School caused over the week­end.

Staff re­turned on Mon­day to find pot­plants from the front of the school miss­ing, as well as sig­nage from the front fence re­moved.

Po­lice said it also ap­pears some­one tried to force open a class­room win­dow.

A lap­top was dis­cov­ered miss­ing from the De­niliquin TAFE Cam­pus on Mon­day morn­ing.

Po­lice say of­fend­ers also at­tempted to gain ac­cess to the can­teen and a class­room, re­sult­ing in a bro­ken door han­dle.

Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is asked to con­tact po­lice.

A De­niliquin teenager has been charged with al­legedly pos­sess­ing a pro­hib­ited drug and equip­ment to ad­min­is­ter a pro­hib­ited drug af­ter be­ing searched by po­lice on Wed­nes­day.

About noon, po­lice stopped the teen and al­legedly lo­cated a ‘bong’ in a plas­tic bag and a small amount of cannabis.

A 32 year-old De­niliquin man re­ceived three fines for three al­leged cy­cling of­fences on Tues­day.

About 8.10pm on Tues­day, po­lice stopped the man rid­ing a BMX bike east in Henry St.

Po­lice al­lege he was not wear­ing an ap­proved hel­met and failed to show flash­ing lights on the bike’s front and rear.
