Triathlon Club starts the sea­son

Deni Triathlon Club kicked off its sea­son last Wed­nes­day night with par­tic­i­pants of all ages and abil­i­ties get­ting in­volved.

Over half of the par­tic­i­pants braved the chilly wa­ter to com­plete the three legs, in­clud­ing new­com­ers Christo­pher Ow­ers and Ol­lie McNulty.

Oth­ers chose to com­plete the ride and run or just the ride leg.

Fol­low­ing the com­ple­tion of the training ses­sion, mem­bers were re­warded with a bar­be­cue dinner.

The club en­cour­ages fam­i­lies to come along and en­joy par­tic­i­pat­ing in ei­ther the short or long ver­sions of the course.

Par­tic­i­pants swim down­stream with the cur­rent, ride along the streets of De­niliquin and run along the river walk.

The club meets ev­ery Wed­nes­day at 5.45pm at McLean Beach with a cost of $20 for a sea­son pass, with a bar­be­cue dinner held once a month as part of the fees.
