Lad­der leader Ba­rooga pro­duced a Fri­day night spe­cial in the Mur­ray Val­ley Cricket As­so­ci­a­tion.

The Hawks ripped apart a hap­less Kata­matite af­ter the Tigers were rolled for 70 in­side 26 overs.

Joe Wright (26) was solid at the top of the or­der for Kata­matite, but the pres­sure was too im­mense from Ba­rooga thanks to an out­stand­ing spell from Justin Ma­ley (5-20).

Ba­rooga got in some valu­able bat­ting prac­tice un­der lights at its home ground, notch­ing up 9-219 from its 45 overs.

Riyaad Henry (44) top scored, while Shane Healey chipped in with 33 down the or­der.

Tom Pendle­bury’s haul of 5-33, which in­cluded a su­perb hat-trick, was the high­light for Kata­matite.

Waaia fired its way to vic­tory on the back of a su­perb bat­ting per­for­mance bat­ting first against Fin­ley.

The Bombers blasted 7-288 as Bray­den Carey (89) and Mitch Clee­land (85 not out) were in scin­til­lat­ing form, while Greg Mey­land (48) was great at the top of the or­der.

Daniel McHugh picked up three wick­ets for Fin­ley and then went on to top score with 35 in the Cats’ in­nings of 134.

Matthew Stu­art was the pick of Waaia’s bowlers with 3-35.

Co­bram took derby hon­ours in its grudge match with Co­bram-Yar­roweyah United.

The com­bine bat­ted first, mak­ing 157 as Kane Goldswor­thy de­liv­ered a cap­tain’s knock of 49 at num­ber seven.

Co­bram re­sponded with 6-222 in its 45 overs.

Jonathan Fearn led the way for the Tigers with an im­pres­sive 52 runs, while Izac Ar­tavilla (46) and Ty­ron Bade (41) also scored strongly.

CYU had five dif­fer­ent wicket tak­ers with Mitch Rich­mann (1/27 off nine) the pick of the bowlers.
