Music will be the theme of the day next Friday in Deniliquin when South West Music opens its doors and launches its 2018 Live Music Calendar.

SWM’s Regional Conservatorium in Hardinge St will be open from 11am to 3pm so prospective students and interested community members can peruse what’s on offer.

That evening music lovers are invited back to the conservatorium for the 2018 Live Music Calendar launch, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

‘‘During the day people will get a chance to meet the teachers, try some different instruments and consider enrolment for 2018 music lessons,’’ SWM director Damien Johnson said.

‘‘It will be a fun and relaxed day so that families can pop in and have a go on some instruments and discover the joy of learning music. We’ll also have a sausage sizzle running.

‘‘It’s a great event to catch up with all the supporters of local live music, and we look forward to sharing with them the calendar of brilliant artists who’ll be performing in Deniliquin and across the region this year.’’

The year’s performers will be revealed at the evening event, and attendees can purchase a yearlong subscription.

Subscribers can attend the four performances for $90, which is a saving of $30.
