Closure a week too late
Well, I doubt many of us north of the border would not have welcomed action to close access to our state by Victorians in view of the pandemic disaster in the southern state.
The problem is that they left it a week too late.
The local area has been invaded by Victorians visiting the area, or travelling through to other destinations for the first week of their school holidays.
Others have been in the area, making raids on our supermarkets to help them survive COVID-19 back home where there are supermarkets on every other corner.
The bridge closure is going to be difficult for border dwellers, particularly those working on each side who now have to obtain permits to travel across the bridge.
They have to have them checked each time they cross, increasing the travel time to and from work.
But there’s more!
It appears that Moama could be scooped up and incorporated into Victoria during the term of the pandemic.
Just like that, Moama-ites could be turned into Mexicans!

It’s official!
The Timbercutters will not be making an appearance on the turf in 2020.
This follows a recent meeting of the Picola District Football Netball League which gave the thumbs down to proceeding with the 2020 season.
While the league still holds hope of some sort of junior competition, the Mathoura club reportedly has reservations as to whether or not it would be successful.
It is hoped 2021 will be a whole new ball game and the world will return to normal.

School is out for local students and despite the chilly weather they can always find fun things to do,
If they are not riding their bikes or climbing haystacks they are busy testing out the Mathoura Skate Park.
Drivers are urged to be mindful of the holidays and the fact that the youngsters can be out and about more often during the day.
