Set­ting an ex­am­ple

I am a type 1 for the past 29 years and, since re­tir­ing,

I do a va­ri­ety of vol­un­teer jobs. One is men­tor­ing a young girl, pri­mary school age, for the last three years. We have a close bond and, as she is a lit­tle over­weight, I do cook­ing with her and I choose to do some of the recipes in the DL mag­a­zines. Recipes we have done in­clude Choco­late Ri­cotta and Apri­cot Slice, and Cin­na­mon

Spiced Bunny Bis­cuits (March/April 2017), savoury muffins, and low-fat piz­zas. I have to leave mul­ti­ple copies of recipes in the staff room as the smell of ev­ery­thing we cook to­gether they love to try at home be­ing no/low-fat and no added sugar. A win­ner all round.
